Located about half a mile southwest of Point Bennett is Whistlebuoy Reef. This small seamount often has strong winds and harsh currents. Because of this, it is important to use the anchor line to go to and from the reef. There are many areas of plankton bloom within the reef, making visibility low in some locations. The reef itself is beautiful; encrusted with scallops, nudibranchs, sea stars, metridium, and anemones. Rockfish and cabezon as well as lingcod make this habitat their home. Jellyfish occasionally inhabit these waters and sometimes turtles can be seen taking care of the jellies. This is a beautiful dive filled with large amounts of life and magnificent colors.
