How to Add Dive Spots to Your Portal
Through the magic of RSS, you can now get all your favorite dive spots
delivered to your My Yahoo! page, MSN, or your favorite RSS news reader. RSS,
or Rich Site Summary, is an XML format for distributing news headlines on the
Web, a process known as syndication. DiveSpots.com publishes all dive spots,
blog entries, and destinations in RSS format. Sounds technical, but don't worry - you
don't need to know anything about how RSS works. We make it easy.
This means you can now get updates automatically on your My Yahoo!, MSN, or Google portal.
All major online portals, such as My Yahoo!, MSN, and Google, support
RSS as a standard for customizing your personal portal page. To use this feature,
simply click on the RSS icon that appears
throughout our site. We'll take care of the rest!
Clicking the icon is generally all you need to do. However, if you
wish to access the RSS content for other purposes, below you'll
find a step-by-step guides for adding DiveSpots.com to popular portals. These steps generally
apply to all news readers.
To add a dive spots RSS feed to My MSN, simply look for the symbol which
appears everywhere a feed is availalble on DiveSpots.com. Clicking the icon will automatically add
the feed to yor page. To add a feed manually, follow these steps.

Go to my.msn.com and log in with your account. |

Click the "Add Content" link near the top right of the page. |

On the popup window that appears, select the "Search" tab,
then enter the URL of the RSS file you would like to add.

The MSN portal page should refresh and the feed should appear at the bottom. You can change the
default settings for a feed by clicking the "change details" option, which appears at the
bottom of the feed. Default settings display the 5 most current headlines.
If you want to display all the feed headlines, set the maximum number to display to a
higher number.
