The world's largest intentionally created artificial reef lies 22 miles off the coast of Pensacola. The old aircraft carrier is being called the "Great Carrier Reef".

Pensacola's over 50 miles of protected shoreline boasts clear waters and sugary white sand. Diving offshore in the Pensacola area has improved greatly since the introduction of the Escambia County aggressive Artificial Reef Program in the 1970s.

This was my first wreck dive. I was very pleased with the amont of fish and how easy it was to explore.

Big ship. dove it quite a bit. 165' to the hangar deck. some big phishies down there. 5 years from now it will be one of the best dives in the world

Dove this 31 July 07 - spectacular dive. There's an amazing amount of activity on the wreck given the short timespan it's been down. I recommend the H20Below & crew - they were top-notch, and know the wreck in & out. Too much to see in one 2-tank dive....
