I hate to be critical........ ...but this was my least favorite dive in FKNMS. On this day, 7/14/08, A.M. dive, vis was good, marine life was poor & I felt that the reef at this spot was over visited, wasn't as vibrant as the others. It was nice to see the statue that I have seen often in photos though.

Cool site, but not my favorite in the Keys The vis on the particular day we hit this site was terrible there, though I know that can change with conditions. Seeing the statue was cool and all, and I'm glad I got to do it, but all in all it wasn't all that great of a dive. I didn't see any cool or out of the norm critters, just your regular collection of grunts and such. Cool site to do once, but I sure ain't gunna bug a boat captain to go there again.

Nice spot for a family snorkel adventure Once you tie up to the reef balls, you will notice hundreds of fish at your stern. Although it can be deep enough that if you wish to expore you need scuba, in reality you can see everything just fine via snorkel. The kids usually like to see the Christ Statue and it's their favorite place to snorkel.

"Must Do" Dive Site! I just dove this site with my wife today. The statue is really awesome!! Try to get up close to the face and hands, but do not touch. Too many people were grabbing on to it. It is an awesome site! Leave it alone to be there for the future. I was told that there are always lots of people at the site. It is a shallow site so you get LOTS of snorkelers. Divers can easily stay beneath them though. The reef around the statue is thick and healthy. Make this dive a priority!

Lots of fish, lobster, & puffer fish This was such a fun dive. Just a great place to get wet. Beautiful white sand around the site & a great place to set up for a dusk & night dive. There were so many fish, lobster, & puffer fish. I did this with two other guys & we have a great hour dive. highly recomend it.

A must see for divers and snorkelers This site varies from 25 to 7 ft., giving you time to take in the statue for as long as you want and still swim around the coral formations for an hour. Fish of all types, rays, turtles, and bugs too. Lots of varying types of coral. Shallow enough for snorkelers as well.

Amazing views, and lots of wild life. This is a great snorkling and diving spot especially for beginers. Im currently training for my certification, so Im spending my time snorkling alot and I found this to be a great area, very shallow in some parts making it easy to dive a bit to get a better look. The seas can get choppy at time, but usually once your IN the reef it makes it easier for you, but not your boat :).

Excellent mix of skin and scuba diving spot. this is an excellent location for the beginner or the snorkel group. This is where I have taken non-divers to get them addicted to the under water world. Then I get them hooked on scuba. By the way, the plaque on the Christ statue is dedicated to my original scuba instructor Mike Kevorkian.

Great dive for the whole family This is a really nice shallow dive and snorkeling location. Great visibility, great views, and lots of fish.
