Interesting Site
I dove this site last week. It was a little windy on the surface but the water was a comfortable 75 degrees, and the visibility was about 60 feet. This wreck is very close to the wreck of the Sea Emperor (its within swimming distance. We started of on the wreck of the Sea Emperor and swam to the UC from there . About 40 feet from the south eastern corner of the sea emperor is a underwater rock jetty that extends to the United Caribbean. The rock pile is itself an intresting site. There was a large school of snappers and grunts along the jetty as well as some very large parrotfish (2 feet +), and a few stingrays. At the end of the jetty if you swim out another 40-60 ft over sand you'll reach the stern section of the United Caribbean which is lying on its port side. The wreck took a big pounding during last years hurricane season and now is in three pieces. The wreck is pretty broken up but its still worth seeing just to get a glimpse of the effect a hurricane can have on a shipwreck. I only had enough air to explore the stern section but there is deffinetly more to be seen on the site. If you do decide to visit the United Caribbean make sure you do so with a lot of air, the swim to the UC and back to the sea emperor took me about 1700 psi, if your going to do it make sure you watch your air since there is no mooring bouy on the UC, and its not really a surface swim you'd want to make, especially if there is a current.
