TRY DRIFTING BOW TO AFT
BEST DIVING IS WHEN THE CURRENT IS LITE RUNNING
SW TO NE. DESCEND AT BOW MOORING LINE [ SAY HI
TO THE BARRACUDAS AT 75 - 85 FEET ] DRIFT DIVE
TO AFT DO NOT MISS AFT MOORING LINE!!! ASCEND
TO SURFACE MAKE SURE THE BOAT OPERATOR UNDERSTANDS THE DIVE PLAN AND PICK UP AREA
WATCH BOTTOM TIME AND AIR SUPPLY MAX DEPTH ON DECK IS ABOUT 101 - 108 AFT IS LITTLE DEEP
THAN BOW

Fantastic Dive
Just another great artificial reef in the Keys! The Duane is a bit further off shore though, so you REALLY need to be aware of currents. GREAT viz and a beautiful moray likes to hide around the stern. I could dive this wreck for a weekend straight and not get bored.

Great Dive!
The wreck of the Duane is one of the most fantastic wrecks in the Keys. It has amazing swim-throughs for recreational wreck divers as well as deeper penetration for tech divers. The current can vary greatly from having absolutely none to feeling like you're a flag blowing in the middle of a hurricane.
The average depth of the dive is about 75-100', and there's not too much reason to go farther down than that as the side of the ship is just a big wall of metal. Unless, of course, you enjoy counting grains of sand at 120 ft.

Awesome but current
Phenomenal dive, but use the bouy line to get up and down to/from wreck. I was there on a completely calm day and the current was pretty steep until about 60 ft. The best swim thru's that I have seen on a wreck. Recommend planning a route before hand because the deck is at 100 ft.

Nice Wreck
Some people like this best of all of the wrecks, I can only speak of my experience.
I went down on it with a lot of current so I didn't get the greatest picture of it.
That said, there were plenty of spots out of the current to explore even in a high current environment.
Excellent wreck, loved it.

Perfect wreck you'll love it, i guarantee it !
I dove this site on jan.25.09 as my second deep dive, my first was the sister ship of the duane called "The Bibb"(Must Dive!). this wreck is very intact and its full of wildlife. there’s a lot of barracuda and jack here and also very large goliath groupers almost as big as props. this ship sites upright and there’s plenty of room to explore the interior of the cutter.(divelight Needed!) Enjoy! 8-)

Waaay past my ability.
It's a great site! All posters are giving accurate reviews. All dive shopes cancelled trips out to the Duane because of conditions. And they should have. However, my friend and I wanted to go. (Not too smart on our part) We found somebody to take us. 10' swells. 4 knots current. Bobbing like a bathtub toy. Jump in...don't miss the line. Hurry down. Pull yourself along the ship. (Current was that strong) Suck air down. Stop at 20-25 feet as the conditions at 15 were brutal. Grab the line to the boat. don't miss. Get hammered while trying to grab the ladder. Everybody is fine.
The site is the BEST. My reason for the review is to tell you that when the dive shops don't want to go out, Don't go out. I will be back for better conditions. It is NOT to be missed!
