Very nice reef system close to home.
Buoys are in place to tie off...limits anchor damage. Lots of interesting formations, small ledges and lots of juvenile fish. I will be diving there again. <><

Beautiful reef located close to shore
There are some nice formations and areas that have 5 to 6 feet of relief.
Timing is everything. It's best to catch the reef between tides to avoid strong currents. Sometimes the visibility can limit your ability to see the colors or see beyond around 25 to 30 feet.

A great shallow water reef with loads of beautiful tropical, corals and fans.
Dove this spot today, 8/8/09. The current was ripping like a river over it due to the full moon. Novice divers beware of possible fast currents at this spot and have a long going home line tied off to your boat. The reef itself is beautiful. A few or no lobster here. Some commercial asshole dropped his lobster traps ON the reef smashing it and the rope attached to each trap (full of lobsters) destroyed every part of the reef in it's 200' long path... You will see many beautiful tropicals at this dive spot. On the outside of the reef in the sand there are quite a few large baracuddas and quite a few baby hog fish (way under legal size). It's a fun dive and when the current is slow a great spot for open water novices, photographers and visitors to enjoy. Hunters both lobster and spearos will find this spot a waste of time.

beatiful spot
This reef is an ideal novice dive. It's a beautiful reef right offshore Key Biscayne -- there's no need to go to the Keys if you want a really nice shallow reef experience near Miami.
