The Spiegel Grove Righted?
Posted Jul 11, 2005 @ 09:00 PM CDT by raf

There are reports today of what can only be called a SCUBA miracle! Several credible sources are reporting that the Spiegel Grove, after years of resting on its right side, is now keel-up!  I need confirmation, folks!  Someone get out there and get me some pictures.

Wow, what kind of forces must have been at play for that to happen? Dennis was hundreds of miles away off the opposite coast of Florida.  And yet the seas were reported to be over 20 feet over the Spiegel.

Hurricane Dennis went up the west coast of Florida but the currents I felt the day of the hurricane in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea were at least 5knots moving north. So with that in mind, I'm sure it was much greater by the Spiegel assisting in righting it.

This is amazing! Has anyone heard any reports of other wrecks being disturbed? Would be nice to get the Bibb righted too.

Hurricane Andrew turned the Atria upright off Ft. Lauderdale in 1992. That made up for tearing apart the Mercedes.
