CAVE DIVING
Is at its best is a place called Hornsby, may not be spelled right. this sink hole is about 40 miles north of Gainsville. It belongs to a Seventh Day Adventist camp site. I think by now it is off limits. Several divers have met their maker here. John and I was two of the divers that swam the tunnels, found teeth, bones and got lots of press in skin diver magazine. Back in 1959 to 1964 I think John Harper and I went to every spring in the state. We dove on all week ends. Wednesday nights were special. We dove in most of the springs that were off limits, Silver springs, Wachula, Silver Glen, lost sink, and Warm minersl springs. Warm mineral Springs at a depth of 225 feet the water temp gets quite warm. That spring was the only time nitrogen narcosis came on. Taking nothing leaving nothing We were the Phantom divers, planned and exected commando dives. Came and went, leaving no calling card. As far as I know no one knew we were there.
