I've heard really good things about the Ikelite housing for the A95. It's a bit more expensive than the WP-DC50 -- almost double. The WP-DC50 is rated to 130 feet, while the Ikelite is rated to 200 feet. The Ikelite certianly looks more rugged and reliable.

Hi there

to reply to your messege may be too late. but have you tried canons web sight for underwater photography? http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/uwphoto/index-e.html .I own a canon A80 and I have bought a case for it in St. Thomas. Its a extremely well made case and as of yet I havent taken it into the water. the reason why is that it is a purpose built housing so if the camera drounds the underwater housing will not fit another camera! This will double your loss if you cannot buy another (obsolete A80) camera as in my case. I just happen to like the camera. I will be doing some test in the next years season of diving and will keep you posted. pardon the spelling (pts).

Yes, I own the Canon A95 and the UW Housing for it. The setup is awesome. I used it in Indonesia, Truk and Palau in the South Pacific. Plenty of spring loaded buttons on the back, that's why it's $160-$180. It's a very well built housing and worth the money. I took some great shots with this outfit, mainly macro and shark shots. You will want to shoot close with this setup as the flash is best for close up/macro to about 3' - 4' out. The camera, when used correctly is great underwater. Many newbies don't realize that you have to preset the aperture to f/8 for good focus and then alter the power of the flash (manual settings) to get great results. If you just resort to point and shoot everything 5' away, then you will get bland results. If you shoot closer with the settings I stated above, then you will get clarity and awesome color. If you want an eaxample of this outfit, check out my picture at the following: http://members.aol.com/blusky79/Indonesia/target28.html
